The Honda Civic for 2023 has already been declared the #1 compact sedan by the very demanding editors at U.S. News and World Report. The Civic is fun to drive, comfortable, well-built and extremely fuel-efficient. The latest edition of the Honda Civic combines a handsome exterior with a beautifully-appointed cabin with features that were once considered luxuries. Here's an overall look at the new Honda Civic that's currently available at Duval Honda in Jacksonville FL.

The new Honda Civic continues with the same proven powertrain options as before. Base models come with a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. The upgraded engine is still a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that's good for 180 horsepower and all models come with front-wheel drive. The turbocharged Touring sedan can reach zero to 60 MPH in 7.5 seconds while the manual Sport Touring hatchback does slightly better at 7.3 seconds.
The smaller engine in the new Honda Civic gets an incredible 33 MPG in the city and 42 MPG on highways around Callahan FL. The bigger engine still does very well with 22 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. At a time when it seems like the cost of just about everything has skyrocketed, these numbers are very encouraging.
The new Honda Civic for 2023 comes with a streamlined interior design that shows off clean lines and a full-width dashboard. The honeycomb-patterned mesh design element does a clever job of hiding the air vents. Honda has improved the center console, making it up appear less cluttered than the previous model. There's a deep bin in front of the shift lever where you can stash smartphones, keys and road trip snacks.
The Honda Civic sedan gives you 14.8 cubic feet in the trunk, which is better than average for the compact car class. That should give you more than enough room for grocery bags or carry-on luggage. If you'd like more space, we recommend going with the Civic hatchback. Its 24.5 cubic foot cargo area will give you a lot more room. The new Civic has a rear lift gate with a wide opening that makes it easy to load and unload stuff. If you fold down the rear seats, there's enough room to store a bicycle.
The Honda Civic comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen along with wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The base level sound system is an 8-speaker stereo. You can upgrade to a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ along with wireless device charging. You can also raise your game to a 12-speaker stereo and satellite radio. Other upgrades include dual zone automatic climate control and a moonroof.
